EigenLayer has gained significant traction as the market leading restaking platform and provides ether stakers with the opportunity to enhance their yield generation through allocating it to additional services. To date, restaking has been driven primarily by retail stakers however interest from institutions has started to grow. Twinstake has therefore been actively monitoring the restaking industry and providing expertise to both our institutional client base as well as key projects in the space to ensure institutional alignment.

This approach underlines our commitment to not just run high performance infrastructure for these networks, but instead to play an active role in shaping them to meet the robust standards that institutions require. This philosophy has guided our involvement with EigenLayer from the beginning. We were among the first 30 operators to run on EigenDA’s testnet, participating actively to help the team understand institutional validator requirements and participating in the ecosystem calls to ensure alignment and technical readiness.

To extend our support further, we authored a detailed report on the outstanding institutional needs in the EigenLayer ecosystem, which served as both a guide for institutions interested in making use of EigenLayer and also as a resource for EigenLayer's own development team. This was created from our deep expertise in both the staking and restaking space but also after direct dialogue with the EigenLayer team.

Report: EigenLayer an Institutional Perspective

Our most recent contributions to EigenLayer underscores our commitment to advancing its institutional readiness. EigenLayer includes a functionality called DelegatorApprover, which enables Operators to approve or reject delegations. This is an essential feature for institutionally run Operators since it allows operators to limit delegators to vetted clients, such as those who have completed comprehensive KYC checks. However, this functionality was previously challenging to use efficiently and so to address this, our Infrastructure Engineer, Aivaras, developed a code contribution that enhancing the DelegatorApprover contract.

This update simplifies the process for Operators by enabling the DelegatorApprover contract to generate the necessary contract values directly and efficiently. Following review, this update was successfully incorporated into EigenLayer’s codebase, and the documentation has been updated to reflect these improvements.

In addition to this we have also contributed bug fixes to the EigenLayer codebase to further improve the robustness of the build.

Our proactive approach to improving EigenLayer’s institutional functionality reflects Twinstake’s broader mission: not only to provide secure and high performance validator services but also to contribute meaningfully to these underlying protocols. Our focus remains on ensuring that networks like EigenLayer are fully prepared to accommodate the unique needs of institutional clients.
